Tim Nolan

For well over 10 yearsTim has been a practicing psychotherapist and counsellor treating individuals, couples, young people and families.

After graduating, Tim commenced his career as a qualified AOD & Mental Health Counselling clinician where he has worked in residential rehabilitation settings, hospitals and psychiatric wards across metropolitan Melbourne. Tim also led a team of multi-disciplined clinicians for a not-for-profit counselling and therapy program in partnership with the Victorian Department of Health. 

Located in Eltham, and practicing in Nillumbik and Banyule shires, Tim provides counselling and psychotherapy for a range of emotional difficulties and problem behaviours and has completed studies in Schema therapy and ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy), EFT (Emotional Focussed Therapy) as well as psychodynamic, CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), Solution Focused and Family Therapies.

 Tim's extensive experience includes working with clients seeking treatment for depression & anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, complex mental health presentations, substance use & addictions, and couples seeking relationship counselling. 

 Tim prides himself on challenging clients to 'say less and do more' in order to make long lasting, meaningful change in their lives. He believes the work a client does outside the counselling room is just as important as the work done in it.

In addition to his practice, Tim has taught Counselling and Psychotherapy and run workshops at the Australian College of Applied Psychology, and currently teaches AOD, Mental Health and Youth Work at several colleges across Melbourne.
